ClotProtect Therapeutics is developing a next-generation treatment for uncontrollable blood loss by directly targeting plasmin, the enzyme responsible for breaking down blood clots, offering a potentially more effective alternative to the current standard of treatment. Led by Professor Helen Philippou, the startup has secured early funding and is progressing towards clinical trials, with the goal of developing both intravenous and intramuscular formulations for use in emergency healthcare settings.
